Real Wedding in Fiji: Skye and Luke in the Mololo Island Resort

I don't know about you, but just thinking about traveling to Fiji gives me butterflies in my stomach. I've never had the pleasure of visiting Fiji, but from the photos online the place looks truly incredible. Luckily, I can live vicariously through Skye and Luke's GORGEOUS wedding elopement photos. When Skye told me about her special day in Fiji I couldn't wait to write a post about it. 

 

The gorgeous couple eloped on a windy day of October 20th, 2017 in Fiji. The ceremony took place on the beautiful beach of the Malolo Island Resort. In an intimate ceremony which included their beautiful "kidlets", the photographers and a few members of the hotel's staff.

 

For her special day, Skye booked Lia and Stu as her wedding photographers.  When asked to write a few words about her experience with the photographers Skye said, "Lia & Stu were my first choice for photographers. I did ‘window shop’ other options but my gut feeling always led me back to them. I’m so glad that I listened to my feeling! They worked as a well-coordinated team & I felt like we’d known each other for ages (not just met half an hour before the ceremony - their boat from the mainland was an hour late..running on “Fiji Time”). They even roped in our kids to help fly the drone camera & send messages to them, so that we could get some pics without kids attached to our legs!"

 

When I asked Skye about her favorite part of the wedding she replied,

"Not having to think about making meals - we paid for the full meal plan. Having paid for all of our meals before we even arrived was one less thing to think about or pay for at the conclusion of our stay. Also, the food was delicious & plentiful, with three different dining options/venues."

 

When it comes to having a prepaid meal plan, I must agree with Skye. When I got married in Mexico, we stayed at an all-inclusive hotel. Meals, snacks, and alcohol were all included in our plan. This definitely took the stress off from thinking about your next meal or worrying about prepping something without the comfort of your own kitchen. I highly recommend this option as well. 

 

Lastly, I asked Skye to tell me about one piece of advice she would give to brides to be, and she said:

" I looked at so many gorgeous shoes, stalked Pinterest - busily saving my favs, and tried on many a gorgeous heel. But finally, I came to my senses and realized that I needed to find a “ beachified” bridal solution. Something that I could walk on sand in and still look divine. That’s when I found Bare Sandals & they were perfect! (Also, if you’re getting married on a windy beach - go for the ‘up-do’ - the island trade winds were howling along the coast on our wedding day & I’m eternally grateful to Michelle for styling my hair & spraying it till it didn’t move!"
